Dear Grandma

Yesterday I had the most terrifying experience ever! It was an autumn afternoon. I was playing in the leaves until I got hungry. I took my mouth watering nut. it was a scrumptious meal. All of a sudden a hawk caught my attention, it was stalking me. It flew to another branch and carefully approached waiting for the moment to dive after me. I slowly moved away but he wouldn't leave me alone. Suddenly he dived down from the tree pointing his razor sharp claws at me.

I scrambled as fast as I could away from the hawk but I couldn’t shake him off. I swiftly vaulted up a colossal tree but still he didn’t give up. Then I saw a warm cosy leaf house sitting on a thin long branch but the hawk wasn’t done, so he ripped the house to shreds. I fell with a big smack to the ground. I was ok because the leaves softened my landing. I scrambled up the tree but he was still on my tail. I looked, in front of me there was a big gap between two branches. I felt like I was already a roasted squirrel. I took a leap of faith over the big gap and vaulted down the tree into a nice cozy hole.

When Tusk went missing we really missed him. It was funny how we used to bang the bowl with a big spoon. It would make a big BANG and Tusk would run to the food bowl and eat it up. That’s what we did when we needed to hang out the washing, worked every time, wait, sometimes.

When Tusk didn’t get his tea on time he would scratch our new sofa and knock the ornaments off the piano. He played a game where he hid under my bed and waited until night and I went to sleep. Then I got scratched by Tusk. I knew he was aggressive but I still liked him. Since he was lost we had to find him. So I went to find him in my secret hut. I noticed I was bleeding on my knee. I had found him!

Dear Mum

Today I had a wonderful experience that almost brought me to tears. I am a little squirrel. I found an acorn and a hawk saw me getting the acorn. The hawk flew straight at me and I sprinted as fast as I could, but the hawk just kept chasing me.

I hid in a ball of leaves but the hawk found me so I fell and landed on my four feet. I continued to scatter up the tree and away on the branch then I took a big vault to the other branch. After that I found my hole and hid there until had flew away. I was safe and sound in my hole

One sunny morning I went to South Africa to see a family of elephants. Suddenly I saw two cars parked on the middle of the turning intersection. After that, two of my friends went to the other side to take a photo shot of the mother elephant helping the baby elephant. As soon as the car reversed the brown bold elephant helped the baby cross over. The baby had a very bad feeling, it had got a bad shock from the car reversing.

Dear Joshua

I was just chilling out on my branch. A few minutes later I sensed a squirrel in some autumn leaves. Next I leapt straight down at the squirrel wanting to rip it apart and make it my lunch snack. But suddenly the squirrel sprinted away as fast as a cheetah. I chased it like a panther. After five minutes of chasing that little rascal I got tired so I sat on a branch for a few seconds then raced down at the squirrel but suddenly he ran in a little hole and that was the end of that.

Dear Mum

Today I was running away from a hawk.

I went out to find scrumptious food. When I went up the tree I heard a sharp claw moving. Suddenly I saw a hawk looking at me with it’s good eye vision. I had no choice to run so I was balancing and sprinting at the same time. luckily I found a nest so I jumped like a spring. The hawk was trying to seek me. Suddenly the hawk swooped aiming at the nest. I went falling on the velvet leaves. I felt amazed that I did not die in the deadly fall. I stood up then I dashed towards the tree. I ascended up the tree as speedily as possible. Then I leapt thinking it was to my death but I survived. So I escaped into the tiny tree hole with a scared feeling. The hawk flew away and I was protected by the giant tree hole.

If I were a storm…

If I were a storm I would command the ocean to roar across the lands.
I would beam my lightning and smash people’s houses with my powerful glowing yellow fist.
I would bust up light bulbs so it would be pitch black in people’s houses.
I would make powerful wind and dark green fog to tumble down friends like it was yesterday.

One evening an elephant was walking with it’s baby. But what they didn’t know was that a lion was approaching, coming closer and closer and closer. Soon when the two elephants were out in the open the lion came pouncing fiercely from the dark green bushes, aiming for the baby.
But the mummy elephant immediately turned around chasing the lion away, finishing it off with a big tremendous noise from the trunk. The lion fled in fear leaving nothing but a dust cloud. After that the baby elephant looked at his mother in relief and the lion was never heard of again.
